TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® International, Inc. has hundreds of team members located in Lansing, Michigan, with thousands across the country and even the world. Our initiatives include innovation, personal and professional development at all levels, technological advancement and creating an all-encompassing, long-term, strategic partnership with our franchisees. We strive to exceed industry standards, build strong customer relationships and consistently facilitate a positive customer experience. We provide an array of top-notch moving services both locally and nationally, all while being deeply rooted in the communities of which we serve. What have been some of the brand's most important milestones over the past five years?
Over the past five years we have excelled in growth by both number of new franchisees in the system, and the number of customers served. In 2012, we ended the year with 191 franchises averaging annual gross sales of just over $1.3 million, according to the 2012 FDD. The top 25 percent came in with average annual gross sales of just over $1.5 million. Going into 2017, we have had 85 months of system growth and have expanded to 280 franchises. Franchises now have average annual gross sales of $1.6 million, with the top 25 percent achieving average annual gross sales of almost $3 million (according to the 2016 FDD). In the last five years, there have been 12 new states added to our footprint and we’ve increased our worldwide system sales to more than $440 million.
We have made huge strides in technological advancements over the last several years, which has allowed us to outpace the moving industry and stay on top of regulations, all while increasing revenue opportunities for franchisees. Some of our notable programs include our Value Flex service for more affordable long-distance moves in addition to portable storage options, creating National Accounts partnerships to increase the value of our franchises by growing the customer base and development of a national Customer Relationship Center to help ensure every customer call is answered, even after regular business hours.
What plans does the brand have in the coming years?
Focusing on innovation and revenue diversification will allow us to further surpass the competition and continue to break into the $17 billion a year industry. We will implement additional innovative advancements across the system, allowing for increased employee satisfaction and safety. This will allow us to continue growing our business culture and allow endless opportunities of what can be accomplished for our customers. We will continue to improve upon our current services while upholding our values and vision.
What does an ideal franchisee look like?
Our most successful franchisees are individuals that were excited when we shared the 2018, and now 2020, vision of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. These individuals can see themselves professionally contributing to a worldwide business with endless opportunities and move solutions. They are skilled in cultivating leadership teams within their business units and developing best-in-class organizations. Our franchisees are agile, as the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system paves the way with higher standards in customer service and operational excellence. They are adaptable as national partnership programs, that encompass multi-million dollar business to business or business to consumer entities, are created. They will keep pace with the implementation of new business solutions and strategies with our franchise leadership council all while striving to exceed our customers’ expectations.
